Hello, and welcome! I am a licensed Master’s-level trained mental health counselor and ARCH Certified Equine Professional located just south of Albuquerque in New Mexico. My counseling specialty is autism in females as well as a specialized form of psychotherapy with equines (horses) that I have termed Equitherapy. Through my research and clinical work, I know that undiagnosed autistic females can be misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or just missed. As a late-diagnosed autistic woman and researcher myself, I understand female autism, the way language shapes our experience, and the unique relief, grief, and reconstruction of identity that can accompany late diagnosis.
Services
Wilderwood Counseling and Equitherapy is located in beautiful Peralta, New Mexico — just 20 minutes south of the Albuquerque Sunport. All services can be offered at flexible times to fit your schedule, including “regular” business hours, weekends, evenings, or very early morning. There is something quite magical about participating in Equitherapy under soft solar lights in our covered arena during evening or sunset hours, especially when there is a full moon!
